Denpasar — Bali Police sent personnel to West Nusa Tenggara on Oct. 6, 2026, to support security for the Mandalika MotoGP, while receiving officers returning from assignments in East Nusa Tenggara and West Kalimantan.

The deployment was confirmed during a reception and departure ceremony led by Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya at Bali Police headquarters. The operation places Bali officers outside the province as the international race approaches in Lombok.

NusaBali reported that Bali Police deployed 97 personnel: 86 from the Directorate of Samapta, four Mobile Brigade officers assigned to an anti-drone team and seven officers from the Directorate of Vital Object Security who had already arrived in West Nusa Tenggara. Separately, 120 Mobile Brigade personnel returned after completing operations in East Nusa Tenggara and West Kalimantan.

Why the deployment matters to Bali residents and visitors

The move means part of Bali’s police capacity is being used in neighboring West Nusa Tenggara during the Mandalika event. For foreign residents and visitors in Bali, the report establishes a regional security deployment rather than a change to immigration, transport or tourism rules. The personnel are assigned to event security in Lombok, not to a new public requirement in Bali.

The Mandalika MotoGP is scheduled for Oct. 9–11, 2026, at the international circuit in Central Lombok. West Nusa Tenggara Police has organized the wider security operation as Operation Mandalika Rinjani 2026, involving police, the military, local government and other agencies. The operation is scheduled to run from Oct. 5 through Oct. 16, covering security before, during and after the race.

The Bali deployment follows earlier assignments in which Bali Mobile Brigade personnel supported operations in East Nusa Tenggara after an earthquake and in West Kalimantan during forest and land-fire response. The Oct. 6 ceremony combined the return of those officers with the departure of personnel for Mandalika.
