Gianyar — The Gianyar Regional Disaster Management Agency urged residents to remain alert to heat exposure, dehydration, land fires and high waves during the peak of the dry season on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026. The warning followed a weather forecast issued by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency’s Region III Denpasar office for Sept. 28 to Oct. 4, 2026.

The forecast put temperatures at 19–33°C and wind speeds at 4–30 km/h. The agency said the combination of strong winds and dry conditions could raise risks on land and along Gianyar’s coast.

Why the warning matters to residents and visitors

For foreign residents and visitors, the warning covers ordinary exposure to Gianyar’s weather as well as activities near coastal areas. The disaster agency said people should maintain their water intake to prevent dehydration and use protective equipment such as a hat, umbrella and sunscreen when outdoors.

The agency also prohibited burning rubbish, discarding cigarette butts carelessly and clearing agricultural land by burning it. Those restrictions apply during conditions that the agency described as particularly prone to fires. The forecast’s high-wave warning is relevant to people visiting or working along the coast, although the report does not state a coastal closure.

The Gianyar agency identified Ida Bagus Putu Suamba, its chief executive, as the official issuing the warning. The forecast period remains valid through Oct. 4, 2026. The report said residents should rely on official information from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency or the Gianyar regency government.
