In Nusa Tenggara Timur, July 2025 star-hotel occupancy reached 50.95%, while Nusa Tenggara Barat recorded 38.11% in April 2025, according to the respective provincial statistics offices.
How busy are hotels in Nusa Tenggara Timur?
Star-rated hotels in NTT recorded a 50.95% room-occupancy rate in July 2025, according to BPS Nusa Tenggara Timur, 2025. The rate was highest in Manggarai Barat at 73.53%, followed by Sumba Timur at 55.40% and Sumba Barat at 46.24%.
NTT’s star-rated hotels received 65,002 guests in July 2025, with domestic visitors accounting for 63.13% and the average stay lasting 1.64 nights, according to BPS Nusa Tenggara Timur, 2025.
How busy are hotels in Nusa Tenggara Barat?
In NTB, star-rated hotels recorded 38.11% occupancy in April 2025, according to BPS Nusa Tenggara Barat, 2025. Non-star accommodation recorded 29.10% occupancy during the same month.
Star-rated hotels hosted 97,640 guests in April 2025, while non-star accommodation hosted 105,546 guests, according to BPS Nusa Tenggara Barat, 2025. The average stays were 1.98 days in star-rated hotels and 1.61 days in non-star accommodation.
Does the season affect the figures?
Yes. The figures are monthly measures, not permanent ratings for a destination. BPS reported that NTB’s star-hotel occupancy rose 11.75 percentage points from March to April 2025, while NTT’s July 2025 rate was reported alongside comparisons with June 2025 and July 2024.
BMKG’s seasonal forecast says Nusa Tenggara was among the Indonesian regions expected to enter the dry season earlier than many other areas during April-June 2025, according to BMKG, 2025. Weather timing and monthly travel demand therefore need to be considered separately from hotel capacity.
