Mangupura — Hotels in The Nusa Dua area of Kuta Selatan, Badung, recorded a modest increase in occupancy connected to the Indonesian MotoGP at the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit in West Nusa Tenggara on Oct. 9–11, 2026.
The change comes as race-week demand builds in Lombok. Agus Dwiatmika said the event typically adds about 2 to 4 percentage points to occupancy in The Nusa Dua, while the area’s occupancy had reached about 86 percent in August 2026. The report said the effect remained limited because occupancy in the area was already relatively stable.
For visitors and foreign residents staying in Bali, the report points to a spillover effect rather than a reported shortage of rooms in The Nusa Dua. The increase reflects demand associated with an event held outside Bali, in West Nusa Tenggara, and does not establish that accommodation in Badung was fully booked.
Why it matters to Bali visitors
The report links a major sporting event in Lombok with hotel demand in one of Bali’s principal resort areas. That connection matters for travelers whose plans include both destinations, because race-week demand can influence occupancy beyond the circuit itself. The reported increase, however, was only about 2 to 4 percentage points, and the article characterized conditions in The Nusa Dua as stable.
The Mandalika MotoGP is scheduled for Oct. 9–11, 2026. The Nusa Dua is in Kuta Selatan, Badung, while the Pertamina Mandalika Circuit is in West Nusa Tenggara. The report also said occupancy in The Nusa Dua usually softens in October before rising again toward November and the end of the year.
