Ngurah Rai Immigration Deports 17 Foreign Nationals in Badung

Badung — Kantor Imigrasi Ngurah Rai deported 17 foreign nationals between Sept. 8 and Sept. 18, 2026, including 10 who were sanctioned for disrupting public order in Badung, Bali.

The change comes as Indonesian immigration authorities continue enforcing administrative measures against foreign nationals whose conduct breaches immigration rules or public-order provisions. Seven other people in the group were deported after overstaying by more than 60 days.

The figures were provided by Muhammad Novyandri, head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, on Sept. 24. The 10 public-order cases were handled under Article 75(1) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration. Four of those 10 people were Australian nationals, according to the report.

Why the deportations matter to foreign residents and visitors

For a foreign resident or visitor in Bali, the cases show that immigration enforcement can extend beyond the validity of a stay permit. Conduct considered a threat to security or public order may lead to deportation under Indonesia’s immigration law, while an overstay of more than 60 days can also trigger deportation under Article 78(3).

The seven people deported for overstaying included two Dutch nationals and one each from Britain, Italy, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Ukraine. The report also states that the 10 public-order cases were the largest category in the group, while Australians made up the largest nationality group within that category.

The deportations followed immigration enforcement in the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office’s jurisdiction. The reports do not state a further timetable or additional action beyond the deportations described.
