Denpasar — Pasma Royce, the newly installed chief of the Bali Regional Police, said on Wednesday, Oct. 14, that putting police officers among residents and in public activities would be his priority. He said the approach was intended to create a safe, comfortable and calm environment across Bali.
The statement came after Pasma Royce took over the post from Daniel Adityajaya. Speaking in Denpasar, he linked visible policing with maintaining public order and supporting Bali’s position as an international tourism destination.
Why it matters to visitors and foreign residents
For visitors and foreign residents, the policy means that police presence is expected to be more visible in public settings, including places where community and tourism activities take place. The stated purpose is to provide reassurance while preserving public order, rather than to announce a new immigration or travel requirement.
Pasma said the Bali Regional Police would continue a program associated with the national police chief’s “Police with the Community” initiative. He described the approach as part of the force’s responsibility to provide public services and enforce the law professionally, proportionately and fairly.
The policy also carries a tourism dimension. Pasma said stable security was important to community activity and to the continuity of Bali’s tourism sector, and expressed the hope that the island would remain a safe, comfortable and attractive destination for visitors from around the world.
The reports do not state a timetable, staffing figure or specific locations for the expanded police presence.
