Russian National Reported Missing Near Pecatu’s Tanjung Mebulu

Pecatu — A 40-year-old Russian national, identified as G. Artem, was reported missing near the cliffs of Tanjung Mebulu in Pecatu, Badung, on Sept. 26, 2026. A motorcycle and helmet found near Karang Boma Cliff became an initial lead for rescuers.

The report was received by the Denpasar Search and Rescue Office at 05:40 WITA (UTC+8) from the Basarnas Command Center, the headquarters coordination center of Indonesia’s National Search and Rescue Agency. According to the missing man’s colleague, Artem had not been in contact since Sept. 23.

Basarnas Bali deployed seven personnel to search around Tanjung Mebulu, Karang Boma Cliff and the nearby coastline. The search included the area believed to be Artem’s last known location. The motorcycle was secured by the Kuta Selatan police because its owner was unknown.

Tanjung Mebulu and the Karang Boma area are coastal cliff locations in southern Bali. For foreign visitors, the report shows that a missing-person case near these sites can involve coordination among the national search-and-rescue agency, local police and village-level authorities. As of the report from the Bali National Search and Rescue Agency, rescuers had not located Artem and were continuing to coordinate with relevant agencies to determine the search area and improve the operation using available information and leads.
