Tabanan — The Tabanan Regency Government, through its Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency, has given telecommunications providers until Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, to relocate utility cable networks along Jalan Gajah Mada, the Alit Saputra area and nearby streets. The notice applies to providers whose networks remain in those areas and sets the deadline as the final opportunity to bring the cables into line with the approved layout.

The change comes as Tabanan reorganizes cables in central and strategic parts of the regency. The stated aims are a tidier streetscape, improved urban appearance and greater safety for residents and road users.

Why the deadline matters to visitors and foreign residents

For people staying or travelling in Tabanan, the order concerns telecommunications infrastructure rather than immigration or travel documents. Any relocation work or enforcement action could affect network availability in the specified areas, although the reports do not state that service interruptions will occur before the deadline.

The notice was issued by the Tabanan Regency Government through the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency, commonly known by its Indonesian abbreviation, PUPR. The agency said the notice was addressed to all telecommunications service providers operating utility networks in the named locations. The one-week period was counted from a notice dated Sept. 28, 2026.

If a provider has not completed the relocation by Tuesday, Oct. 6, the joint Tabanan Regency Government team may cut the cable networks in the field. The reports state that any material losses and service disruptions resulting from that action would be the responsibility of the provider.

The relocation is tied to a broader plan to organize cables in Tabanan’s central city, protocol roads and other strategic areas. Earlier reporting said the regency intends to move networks underground in priority locations, while some arterial connections to homes may continue to use poles on certain sections.
