Sanur — Bali Climate Week 2026 opened on 13 October 2026 in Sanur, Denpasar, with the main programme centred on the Sanur Low-Emission Zone.
Why it matters: Visitors and residents in Sanur can expect climate-related forums, innovation visits and public activities in the low-emission zone from 13 to 17 October 2026.
The event is being held from 13 to 17 October and was initiated by the Bali Net Zero Emission Coalition with support from ViriyaENB, according to the event’s official website. The Bali provincial government and the coalition are collaborating on the programme, local media reported.
The week is designed to bring together government, communities, businesses, academics, civil-society organisations and development partners to discuss local climate action and Bali’s pathway towards net-zero emissions by 2045.
Four-part programme
The official programme includes a Public Policy Forum on 13 October, a Climate Investment Forum on 14 October, Innovation Exploration on 15 and 16 October, and a Local Festival on 17 October.
Activities include policy discussions, meetings between funders and climate-solution providers, visits to community-based initiatives, film screenings, pop-up markets and other public activities, according to the organisers.
Participants are being encouraged to use Sanur’s pedestrian routes, bicycles and the Intaran electric shuttle to reach activities in the low-emission zone, Bali Post reported.
The event’s theme is “Regional Climate Action: Reframing the Meaning of a Just Transition for All”. Organisers say the week is intended to strengthen locally led climate action and provide a forum for sharing practices, aspirations and solutions.
Sanur’s role
Sanur is one of six areas identified by the Bali provincial government for low-emission development, alongside Ubud, Nusa Penida, Nusa Dua, Kuta and the Gajah Mada Cultural Heritage Area in Denpasar, according to Tribun Bali.
The development of the six areas is intended to support Bali’s net-zero target for 2045. The event uses Sanur as a practical setting for discussions about lower-emission mobility and locally led climate initiatives.
