Petrol stations across Bali — Bali Governor Wayan Koster issued a six-point response on October 16, 2026, including a proposed odd-even licence-plate system for subsidised-fuel purchases at petrol stations across Bali from October 17 to 19.
Why it matters: The measures affect subsidised-fuel purchases across Bali, while 66 petrol stations in Denpasar and Badung operate around the clock during the supply response.
The measures were set out in a letter to PT Pertamina Patra Niaga’s regional executive general manager after motorists faced long queues at petrol stations. The letter also called for truck refuelling to be shifted to night-time hours, limits on subsidised-fuel purchases and additional tanker capacity.
Separately, Pertamina Patra Niaga said on October 16 that about 19 million litres of fuel had arrived at the Sanggaran Fuel Terminal and Manggis Integrated Terminal. The company said planned additional supply for Bali totalled about 57.9 million litres, with the remainder scheduled to arrive over the following two to three days.
Pertamina said the additional supply included Pertalite and Pertamax. It had also deployed 108 tanker trucks supported by 465 crews, while both fuel terminals were operating around the clock.
The company said 66 petrol stations in Denpasar and Badung were operating 24 hours a day to expand access and help reduce queues. Pertamina reported that service conditions in some areas were beginning to improve.
The odd-even arrangement and other measures were described in the governor’s letter as steps to reduce queues. Pertamina’s supply and distribution operations were continuing as additional shipments arrived between October 14 and 17.
