Denpasar — The Bali military command deployed 100 personnel to support security and fuel-station operations during a fuel shortage on Oct. 16, 2026, including as dispenser operators in Badung and Denpasar.
The deployment followed a request from PT Pertamina (Persero) for security assistance and operational support as fuel scarcity produced long vehicle queues at stations across Bali. The personnel were assigned to help keep service orderly, improve the refueling process and reduce queues.
Col. Inf. Amrizal Nasution, head of public information for Kodam IX/Udayana, said the personnel were assigned to several fuel stations in Bali. The force included about 100 personnel from Kodam IX/Udayana’s operational support units and combat-support units.
Why it matters to readers in Bali
For foreign residents and visitors, the deployment means that military personnel may be visible at fuel stations in Badung and Denpasar and may directly assist with dispensing fuel. The measure addresses station security and service continuity during the shortage; it does not change the report’s description of fuel availability or establish a separate rule for foreign customers.
The reported assistance came as long queues formed after fuel supplies became scarce. The military personnel’s operational role was intended to support station staff, maintain orderly service and help more motorists complete refueling.
NusaBali reported the same deployment on Oct. 15, 2026, and said the personnel had received operational briefings from Pertamina before beginning their assignments. The reports identify Kodam IX/Udayana as the military command involved and Badung Regency and Denpasar City as the areas receiving particular support.
