Denpasar — Bali is forecast to be partly cloudy on Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, with temperatures ranging from 19 to 32 degrees Celsius and southern waters facing waves of up to 3,0 metres, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency (BMKG).
The forecast covers conditions from 8 a.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10. BMKG also issued an early warning for strong winds, while no Bali district or city was expected to receive a rain warning ranging from light to extreme during that period.
For people using boats, the sea forecast is more consequential than the general land outlook. Northern Bali waters are forecast to see waves of 0,5–1,5 metres, while southern waters could range from 0,5–3,0 metres. The report says waves of 2,5 metres combined with winds of 21 knots could pose a risk to ferries; for fishermen, the stated threshold is 1,25 metres with winds of 15 knots.
Why Southern Bali Waves Matter for Boat Trips
The contrast between the northern and southern waters gives the forecast practical significance for ferry passengers, fishermen and other boat users. IDN Times, reporting the same BMKG data, said waves of 1,25–2,5 metres were forecast at Benoa, Sanur and Serangan ports at 2 p.m. WITA (UTC+8), although conditions at other ports were lower.
On land, Bali’s forecast range is 19–32 degrees Celsius, with humidity of 60–90 percent and east-southeast winds of 4–36 kilometres per hour. The Bali Post report gives the same overall temperature and sea-state ranges, while IDN Times identifies the southern waters as the area reaching the highest forecast wave height.
The forecast is a time-specific assessment rather than a general description of Bali’s October weather. Conditions are stated for the Friday-to-Saturday period, and the port figures provide a more localized picture for people whose journeys depend on sea conditions.
