Denpasar — The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) forecast generally partly cloudy weather across Bali on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, while issuing a strong-wind warning for Karangasem and forecasting waves of up to 3.5 metres in the waters south of Bali.

The forecast applies from 8 a.m. on Oct. 7 to 8 a.m. on Oct. 8, according to reports citing BMKG information. No Bali regency or municipality was listed for a rainfall warning during that period. Winds were forecast from the east to southeast at 4–39 kilometres per hour, with temperatures across the island ranging from 19 to 33 degrees Celsius.

Why it matters for Bali travellers and residents

The southern Bali wave forecast affects people using or working around the sea, including ferry passengers, fishers, boat operators and visitors near exposed beaches. The reported risk thresholds were a wind speed of 21 knots with waves of 2.5 metres for ferries, and 15 knots with waves of 1.25 metres for fishing boats.

For visitors, the warning means that marine transport and coastal activities may face more difficult conditions in the affected waters. The forecast does not announce a ferry cancellation or a beach closure. It identifies conditions that could create risks for vessels, particularly where wind and wave conditions meet the thresholds cited by BMKG.

In its Bali forecast, BMKG listed wave heights in the northern Bali waters at 0.5–2.0 metres and in the southern Bali waters at 0.5–3.5 metres. A separate report said conditions at several ports at about 2 p.m. WITA (UTC+8) were partly cloudy, with waves at Benoa and Sanur ranging from 1.25 to 2.5 metres.

The reports did not state that a transport suspension or other operational change had been ordered. They described the information as a weather and marine-safety warning for Oct. 7.
