Denpasar — Former Bali National Land Agency regional head I Made Daging is scheduled to face a pretrial hearing at Denpasar District Court on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026. His petition challenges his designation as a suspect by investigators from the Bali Police’s Special Criminal Investigation Directorate in an alleged document-forgery case.

The hearing follows Daging’s detention at the Bali Police detention facility after investigators designated him a suspect. The case concerns an alleged offence involving the creation or use of a false document capable of creating a legal right, according to NusaBali. The court’s public-relations official, Wayan Suarta, confirmed that the first hearing was listed in the court’s case-management system.

The case places a land-dispute document at the center of the challenge

Balipost reported that the alleged forgery involved documents connected with a land dispute concerning Pura Dalem Balangan in Jimbaran, South Kuta, Badung. The report said Daging was represented by a legal team in the petition filed at Denpasar District Court.

For foreign residents and visitors, the proceeding is relevant because it involves the agency responsible for land administration and a dispute over documents affecting land rights. A pretrial petition examines the legality of investigative steps and the suspect designation; it does not itself decide whether the underlying forgery allegation is proven.

Police previously identified Daging as a suspect in the alleged document-forgery case, while the petition asks the court to review that designation. The reports do not state the hearing’s outcome or provide a later procedural timetable.
