Bali officials to meet on proposed protected agricultural land

Kerta Sabha — Bali Governor Wayan Koster was scheduled to lead a meeting on Tuesday, 29 September 2026, to reach agreement on proposed Sustainable Food Agricultural Land (LP2B) areas in Bali.

The meeting was organised by the Bali provincial office of the National Land Agency (BPN) and was set for 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. local time at the Kerta Sabha meeting room in the Jaya Sabha complex, according to the Bali provincial government’s event portal.

The agenda followed earlier technical-verification discussions held on 21 September, the event listing said. It was intended to establish a shared position on the proposed extent and zoning of agricultural land to be protected across Bali.

Officials invited

The listing said the meeting would be attended in person by senior provincial and regency officials. Those named included the Bali provincial secretary, the head of the provincial Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Settlement Areas office, and the regents of Gianyar, Buleleng and Jembrana.

Also listed were the relevant regional secretaries, public-works officials and district land-office heads from Gianyar, Buleleng and Jembrana. The event page identified the head of the Bali provincial BPN office as the person responsible for the meeting.

LP2B is Indonesia’s land-use framework for protecting agricultural areas intended to support sustainable food production. The Bali provincial government’s event portal described the 29 September gathering as a meeting on proposed areas and zoning; it did not announce a final designation in the listing.

Earlier provincial target

A Bali provincial government report published in July said the province and its regencies and city had agreed on a proposed 56,098.76 hectares of LP2B, equivalent to 87.01% of the 2024 baseline agricultural-land area. That earlier agreement was reached at a coordination meeting in Denpasar on 22 July 2026.

The provincial government’s later event listing placed the 29 September meeting within the subsequent verification and agreement process. The event was therefore a planning and coordination step concerning proposed protected agricultural land, rather than a reported announcement of a new final restriction.
