Bali’s water system combines groundwater, springs, reservoirs and regional drinking-water services. The province recorded 1,023 billion units of spring-water potential and eight registered groundwater basins in its 2025 local-government report, while cross-regency bulk drinking-water service capacity reached 408 litres per second, or 89.08% of identified need.
How much water potential does Bali have?
The Bali provincial government’s 2025 performance report records spring-water potential at 1,023 billion units and identifies eight groundwater basins, known in Indonesian as Cekungan Air Tanah. These are administrative and resource-planning figures, not a measure of water available for unrestricted extraction.
How much regional drinking-water capacity is available?
The same report records 458 litres per second of identified cross-regency or cross-city bulk drinking-water service need and 408 litres per second of serviceable capacity. It reports that capacity as 89.08% of the stated requirement, according to the Bali provincial government, 2025.
Does Bali also process domestic wastewater?
Bali’s 2025 report records 38,995.8 units of domestic wastewater entering the regional domestic wastewater treatment system and reports 76.46% service coverage for domestic wastewater treatment. The report attributes the figures to the provincial public-works and spatial-planning agency.
What does this mean for residents and visitors?
These figures show that Bali’s water question is not only about rainfall or groundwater: it also concerns how regional drinking-water and wastewater systems are planned and delivered. The reported 89.08% drinking-water capacity and 76.46% wastewater-treatment coverage describe service indicators for 2025, not a guarantee of uninterrupted supply at every property.
Which official sources track Bali’s wider data?
BPS-Statistics Indonesia’s Bali Province in Figures 2025, released on 28 February 2025, is the province’s annual statistical reference. The Bali government’s Satu Data portal separately provides sectoral tables, including waste-management data by regency and city.
