Amankila in Karangasem plans three-month closure for construction

Manggis — Amankila resort in Manggis plans to suspend operations from 20 October 2026 to 19 January 2027, according to reports published on 13 and 14 October 2026.

Why it matters: Guests with bookings between 20 October 2026 and 19 January 2027 may be affected, while Karangasem could lose up to Rp6 billion in locally generated revenue.

The closure is intended to accelerate construction of nine to 11 additional residences that are part of the resort’s development, Bali Post and DDTCNews reported. Amankila’s finance chief, I Gusti Nyoman Satria, said the temporary suspension was intended to avoid disturbing guests as physical work intensified.

The closure could reduce Karangasem’s locally generated revenue by between Rp5 billion and Rp6 billion, based on the resort’s reported tax contribution of about Rp1 billion to Rp2 billion per month, according to Karangasem lawmakers cited by Bali Post and DDTCNews.

Karangasem’s regional asset and financial management agency is preparing measures to mitigate the impact, while the regional government plans to coordinate on alternative revenue sources, the reports said.

• Operations are scheduled to stop from 20 October 2026 through 19 January 2027.
