Denpasar — Bali’s provincial government and police placed 404 joint personnel on standby for natural-disaster response on Nov. 5, 2026, after 48 disasters were recorded across the island during the first three days of November.
The readiness assembly took place at the Iptu Soetardjo Tohpati Field in Denpasar and was led by Bali Deputy Governor Nyoman Giri Prasta. Bali Police Chief Inspector General Pasma Royce attended with representatives of the military, the Regional Disaster Management Agency, the Search and Rescue Office and other agencies.
Why it matters for residents and visitors
The deployment signals that disaster preparedness applies across Bali, not only in one tourist district. Officials said every regency and city in the province was classified as vulnerable to natural disasters, with risks including floods, fallen trees and landslides. For foreign residents and visitors, the practical implication is that severe weather may affect roads, accommodation areas and local transport across the island, while emergency responses are coordinated among police, military, disaster-management authorities and search-and-rescue teams.
The 404 personnel came from the military and police, Bali’s provincial disaster-management agency and other government institutions. Officials said Bali was entering a transition from the dry season to the rainy season in November, a period that can bring extreme weather, strong winds and heavy rainfall.
Denpasar was identified as vulnerable to flooding and fallen trees. Badung, Gianyar, Tabanan, Buleleng, Jembrana, Bangli, Karangasem and Klungkung were identified as facing combined risks from landslides, fallen trees and flooding.
Officials urged the public to remain alert and monitor official weather information from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency, known as BMKG. The assembly brought together the provincial government, Bali Police and other agencies as an early-warning and response measure.
