Lombok — InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and Dharma Lautan Utama (DLU) arranged sea transport through Lembar Port for visitors traveling to the Pertamina Grand Prix of Indonesia 2026, with service available from Oct. 4 through Oct. 17 around the Oct. 9–11 race weekend.
The Surabaya–Lombok route runs from Tanjung Perak Port in Surabaya to Lembar Port in West Lombok. The arrangement is intended to support the movement of passengers and vehicles from Java as visitors head to the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in The Mandalika, West Nusa Tenggara.
Why it matters to visitors traveling to Mandalika
For foreign visitors arriving through Java, the ferry route offers an alternative to air travel and connects Surabaya with Lombok by sea. The crossing takes about 18 hours, according to reports on the ITDC-DLU arrangement. DLU is operating the route with vessels including KM Dharma Kencana and KM Kirana VII, which carry both passengers and mixed vehicles.
Reports said KM Dharma Kencana can carry 554 passengers and 84 mixed vehicles, while KM Kirana VII has capacity for 471 passengers and 62 mixed vehicles. The vessels use separate facilities at Lembar: KM Dharma Kencana docks at Lembar Sejahtera Port near Gili Mas, while KM Kirana VII uses Kedaro Terminal.
Departures from Lembar were scheduled on Oct. 8 at 13.00 WITA and Oct. 10 at 15.00 WITA for KM Dharma Kencana, with additional service on Oct. 12, Oct. 14 and Oct. 17. The reports also said the ships continue to serve the route daily from Surabaya to Lombok and from Lombok to Surabaya.
The transport plan forms part of preparations for increased passenger and vehicle traffic during the MotoGP event. DLU said it did not plan to add vessels because the two ships operating on the route were considered sufficient for demand.
