Denpasar — A group of about 10 unidentified motorcyclists attacked Ahmad Rizki Hariyono, 22, at a warung on Jalan Tukad Yeh Aya IX in Panjer, Denpasar Selatan, in the early hours of Sept. 26, 2026. The assault was reported after CCTV footage circulated on Oct. 6.
The attack began when one of the riders struck Hariyono’s motorcycle from the side, causing him to fall. The group then beat him with wooden sticks, left briefly and returned with a larger stick before nearby residents dispersed them. Reports said Hariyono suffered bruising to his right cheek, an injury to his left elbow and an injury to his left leg.
Police are searching for the unidentified attackers
According to Detik and Tribun Bali, Hariyono reported the incident to the Bali Regional Police’s integrated police service. Iptu Azel Arisandi, the criminal investigations unit chief at the South Denpasar Police, said officers were pursuing the attackers and coordinating with investigators at the Bali Regional Police.
For foreign residents and visitors in Denpasar, the reports describe an assault at a local food stall rather than an incident involving tourists or a stated dispute over access to the area. The location was identified as Jalan Tukad Yeh Aya IX, near Warung Madura in Panjer. The reports did not state a motive or identify any suspect.
Police also said they planned patrols with the local customary village to help prevent similar incidents. No arrests were reported in the available coverage.
