Bali DPRD Opens 2026 Budget Review, Flags Asset Revenue Strategy

Denpasar — Bali’s provincial legislature on 8 September 2026 began deliberating draft regional regulations on changes to the 2026 provincial budget and the province’s 2027 budget plan, with officials also highlighting efforts to optimise provincial assets as a source of locally generated revenue.

According to the Bali Provincial DPRD secretariat, the 48th plenary session heard the governor’s explanation of the two draft regulations. The agenda covered the draft revision of the 2026 provincial budget and the draft 2027 budget, both presented to lawmakers in the same sitting.

The secretariat said the governor linked the proposals to efforts to strengthen pendapatan asli daerah, or PAD, through better use of provincial assets. Local media reports on the same session also described asset optimisation as part of Bali’s wider revenue strategy.

Budget focus

Reports on the meeting said the 2026 budget revision would raise provincial revenue and spending from the original plan, while the 2027 draft budget would set out Bali’s fiscal priorities for the following year. The 2027 plan was described as aiming to support economic transformation while maintaining spending on public services and development.

The same reports said the 2027 draft budget projected revenue of more than Rp5.7 trillion, with PAD contributing more than Rp4.5 trillion, while spending was set at more than Rp6.1 trillion. The budget gap was described as a deficit of more than Rp475 billion.
