BIH, HK Asia Medical Group Plan Bali Heart Centre

Bali — — Bali International Hospital and Hong Kong-based HK Asia Medical Group signed a memorandum of understanding on July 31, 2024, to develop a cardiovascular centre in Bali, according to statements released by the two organisations. The planned centre is described as a heart centre focused on advanced diagnostics, minimally invasive surgery and post-operative care.

BIH said the partnership is intended to expand access to specialist cardiac care in Bali and support training for local medical personnel. HK Asia Medical Group said it would contribute medical equipment and professional development programmes for doctors and other staff, including training, seminars and workshops.

Planned services

The hospital and the medical group said the centre would offer a broad range of cardiovascular services, including advanced diagnostic procedures, minimally invasive surgery and personalised post-operative care. They also said the cooperation would include joint research on heart disease prevention and treatment, as well as public education on heart health.

BIH President Director Dr. Dewi F. Fitriana said the partnership was designed to address demand for advanced cardiovascular treatment in Bali. HK Asia Medical Group chief executive Steven Tse said the collaboration was meant to improve cardiac services through knowledge and resource sharing.

The announcement did not give an investment value, opening date or construction timeline. It also did not specify staffing arrangements, referral procedures, pricing, insurance coverage or whether the heart centre would operate as a separate facility or as a service within BIH.

Partnership details

BIH described HK Asia Medical Group as a cardiovascular-focused private medical group with more than 25 years of experience across Mainland China, Hong Kong and Japan. In a separate company statement, HK Asia Medical Group said the Bali collaboration forms part of its wider regional expansion in cardiovascular care.

BIH has also said its broader cardiology service includes world-class cardiovascular care supported by advanced medical technology and highly skilled specialists. The heart-centre plan adds a specialist focus to that existing service line.

The agreement was first described in BIH material published in October 2024 and in a later HK Asia Medical Group press release that repeated the same signing date and project details.
