BMKG Forecasts Partly Cloudy Bali as South Seas Reach 2.5 Metres

Denpasar — The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) forecasts partly cloudy weather across Bali on Friday, Sept. 25, with temperatures from 18 to 32 degrees Celsius and no regency or city under a rain warning from 8 a.m. WITA (UTC+8) through 8 a.m. Saturday.

The forecast period covers Sept. 25 to Sept. 26, as Bali enters a day when marine conditions could be more significant than rainfall. BMKG forecasts waves of up to 2.5 metres in the waters south of Bali. Bali Post reported that the conditions may pose risks to ferry vessels when wind reaches 21 knots and waves reach 2.5 metres; smaller fishing boats face risk at 15 knots and waves of 1.25 metres.

Why the forecast matters for Bali visitors

For foreign residents and visitors, the rain outlook indicates no district or city in Bali was listed for a light-to-extreme rain warning during the stated period. The marine warning applies differently: it concerns travel and work on the water, particularly ferry crossings and fishing activity, rather than ordinary movement on the island.

BMKG’s forecast also places Bali’s wind direction between east and southeast, at speeds of 4 to 30 kilometres per hour. The wave forecast refers specifically to the waters south of Bali, so conditions at sea may differ from weather in Denpasar or other inland destinations.
