Denpasar — Bali is forecast to remain mostly clear to partly cloudy on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, while seas south of the island could reach 3.0 metres, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency (BMKG).
The forecast covers conditions from 8 a.m. WITA (UTC+8) on Oct. 22 through 8 a.m. WITA on Oct. 23. Balipost reported that no Bali regency or city had a rain warning ranging from light to extreme during that period. Air temperatures were expected to range from 20 to 34 degrees Celsius, with the day’s highest temperature reaching 34 degrees.
High seas matter more than the otherwise dry forecast
For foreign visitors, the principal practical concern is maritime travel rather than rain on land. BMKG’s forecast identified the waters south of Bali as an area where waves could reach 3.0 metres. Balipost said ferry operations could face risk when winds reach 21 knots and waves reach 2.5 metres. Fishing activity could face risk at wind speeds of 15 knots and wave heights of 1.25 metres.
A separate report by Detik Bali described generally clear conditions across the island and listed local forecasts ranging from 18 to 32 degrees Celsius in the districts and city it covered. Tribunnews also reported a potential wave range of 0.5 to 3 metres in southern Bali waters and said the maritime conditions were relevant to fishermen, boat operators and tourists planning sea journeys.
BMKG’s land forecast called for clear or partly cloudy conditions in most areas, with some places forecast to be cloudy. Wind was expected from the east-southeast at 4 to 32 kilometres per hour. The forecast is a time-specific assessment for Oct. 22 and the following morning; conditions at sea can differ from those on land.
