Susi Air Pioneer Fares Unchanged on Three Teminabuan Routes

Teminabuan — — Pioneer flight ticket prices on Susi Air services from Teminabuan Airport in South Sorong, Southwest Papua, remained unchanged as of Friday, 18 September 2026, despite a nationwide rise in aviation fuel prices that began on 1 September, according to local radio reports and national economic coverage.

Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) reported that listed fares on the Teminabuan routes ranged from Rp344,780 to Rp621,650, based on information from Aviation Security personnel at the airport.

Maichel Erik, an Aviation Security officer at Teminabuan Airport, said there had been no ticket price adjustment during September on the routes operated by Susi Air and that flight schedules continued as normal as of 18 September 2026.

The development matters for residents of South Sorong because pioneer services connect remote areas with limited transport options, offering access to larger centres for trade, health care and administration.

Current fares and routes

Teminabuan currently has one pioneer-flight operator, Susi Air, serving three routes: Teminabuan–Sorong, Teminabuan–Inanwatan and Teminabuan–Manokwari, with fares varying by direction.

According to RRI’s report from Teminabuan Airport, the ticket prices on these routes are:

• Sorong–Teminabuan: Rp433,630
• Teminabuan–Sorong: Rp383,630
• Teminabuan–Inanwatan: Rp344,780
• Inanwatan–Teminabuan: Rp344,780
• Teminabuan–Manokwari: Rp585,650
• Manokwari–Teminabuan: Rp621,650

The Sorong and Manokwari services operate in both directions on Tuesdays and Fridays, while Teminabuan–Inanwatan flights run on Wednesdays and Saturdays, according to the schedule cited by RRI.

Airport personnel told RRI that ticket prices are set by the airline and may change at any time in line with the carrier’s policy, even though no adjustment had been made by mid-September.

Fuel price increase and unchanged pioneer fares

The stability of Teminabuan’s pioneer fares comes against the backdrop of higher aviation fuel prices across Indonesia.

National economic coverage, citing data used by the Ministry of Transportation, reported that the average domestic aviation fuel price rose to about Rp23,315 per litre as of 1 September 2026, an increase of roughly 6.5% compared with August.

In response to the fuel price increase, the Ministry of Transportation raised the maximum fuel surcharge that domestic airlines may add to economy-class fares to 40% of the applicable upper fare limit, up from 30% in August.

Despite this higher cost environment, RRI reported that the Susi Air pioneer routes at Teminabuan had not seen ticket price or schedule changes by 18 September, and that decisions on fuel and fares were handled by the airline.

Maichel Erik told RRI that fares on some Teminabuan routes had previously increased by about Rp200,000 during an earlier period of volatile global oil prices, and that airport staff explained those changes to passengers at the time.

For now, however, RRI’s report indicates no September adjustment linked directly to the 1 September aviation fuel price rise, and no reduction in pioneer flight frequency from Teminabuan.

Passenger demand and outlook

Passenger numbers at Teminabuan Airport have fluctuated through 2026, according to Maichel’s comments to RRI.

He said traffic was higher during the first four months of the year, a trend that airport personnel associated with Ramadan and the homecoming period, before declining from May to August.

Maichel added that passenger numbers are expected to increase again toward the end of the year, including the Christmas period, although he did not provide specific figures.

He also said that additional flights from Teminabuan are still under discussion and may be considered next year, but remain at the planning stage rather than a confirmed expansion.

For passengers using Teminabuan’s pioneer services, the immediate practical situation is that published fares and regular schedules remain in effect as of 18 September 2026. Travellers are advised in local reporting to check current prices and availability with Susi Air or the airport, as the airline retains the option to revise fares in response to changing conditions.
