Bali Police Tighten Airport Security Ahead of IAWP 2026

Denpasar — Bali police have stepped up security at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport and in the Nusa Dua area ahead of the 63rd International Association of Women Police (IAWP) Training Conference, which runs from 20 to 24 September 2026 at The Westin Resort Nusa Dua. Officers have focused on the domestic arrivals terminal, where participants and committee members are arriving by air, according to detikBali.

On Saturday, police said the terminal remained orderly and passenger movement was still relatively light. A separate local report said police had deployed 49 personnel at the airport as part of the wider security operation, with officers placed at points considered vulnerable to congestion along access routes and in terminal areas.

Bali police have also prepared a broader security response under Operasi Gapura Agung IV-2026. Reports from local media said the preparations included scenario mapping, communication procedures, personnel placement and coordination between task forces to support the international event.
