Negara — The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) urged residents and visitors in Jembrana, Bali, to remain alert on Nov. 4, 2026, as the seasonal transition brought the possibility of extreme weather, heavy rain, strong winds and high waves.
The warning covered the waters south of Jembrana and Bali, as well as the southern Bali Strait. BMKG also said coastal communities should watch for maximum tides and possible tidal flooding in the coming days. The warning was issued during the shift from the dry season to the rainy season, when rainfall was expected to increase across much of Bali from early November.
Why it matters for visitors and coastal residents
For foreigners staying in or visiting Jembrana, the warning means that weather and sea conditions may affect coastal activities and marine travel. The risk is concentrated in exposed southern waters and the southern Bali Strait, where high waves can create dangerous conditions for boats and other people working or traveling at sea.
BMKG said the warning should be taken seriously by fishermen and others conducting activities on the water. Heavy rain may also be accompanied by lightning and short periods of strong wind. Coastal residents and visitors near the southern Bali Strait and southern Bali waters may face tidal flooding if maximum tides occur.
BMKG urged people to monitor official weather forecasts and remain alert during heavy rain. It also cautioned against taking shelter under large trees during downpours. The agency’s warning did not announce a closure or specify a single end time for the weather risk; it described conditions expected during the seasonal transition and in the following days.
