Denpasar — Three foreign women from Uganda, Russia and Nigeria were detained at a villa in West Denpasar after immigration officers investigated suspected online prostitution, according to reports published Nov.
The new detail in the case is that the Nigerian national, identified as BDC, had overstayed her permitted visit by 54 days. The three women — JN, 35, from Uganda; AS, 29, from Russia; and BDC, 32, from Nigeria — were taken to the Denpasar Immigration Office for further examination.
Immigration authorities said the investigation followed public reports about possible stay-permit violations. Officers traced online profiles allegedly offering sexual services and conducted a patrol on Oct. 28–29. The women were found at a villa on Jalan Padang Tegal Sari in Denpasar Barat.
Officials said the Russian and Ugandan nationals were using visas on arrival, while the Nigerian national had exceeded her authorized stay. The authorities characterized the suspected activity as misuse of visitor permits because the permits were intended for tourism, not work or commercial sexual services.
Why it matters for foreign visitors
For a foreign visitor, the case illustrates the practical consequences of violating the conditions of an Indonesian stay permit. Immigration authorities may investigate alleged misuse of a visitor permit alongside other suspected violations. In this case, officials said all three women faced administrative immigration measures, including deportation and proposed entry bans.
The reports do not state that deportation had already occurred. They say the women remained subject to further examination and that the authorities would pursue deportation and entry restrictions. The case therefore concerns proposed administrative action, rather than a completed removal from Indonesia.
