Badung Schedules LPG Market Operation in Canggu

Badung — The Badung Regency Government scheduled a subsidized LPG market operation in Canggu for Sept. 24, following an operation in Dalung on Sept. 22, as the authorities responded to concerns about supplies of 3-kilogram cylinders. The plan was reported on Sept. 21.

The operation was organized with PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Sales Area Bali. It was part of a broader response that included additional LPG deliveries in Badung between Sept. 14 and Sept. 25, according to reports by detikBali and the Badung Regency Government. The market operation was intended to distribute LPG cylinders alongside basic necessities.

Why the Canggu operation matters to foreign residents

For foreign residents and visitors living in or near northern Badung, the announcement identifies a local, date-specific supply measure rather than a change to Indonesia’s national LPG policy. Canggu and Dalung are in North Kuta District, an area that includes large resident and visitor populations. The reports describe the operation as a response to local supply and price concerns.

BALIPOST reported that the earlier operation took place west of Bale Banjar Campuan Asri Kauh in Dalung Permai Housing, Dalung Village. It said the next operation was scheduled for Sept. 24 at the Canggu Village public field. The report also said the government and Pertamina were increasing supplies through an extra-dropping scheme in several areas.

The Badung Regency Government’s account said the additional deliveries were intended to anticipate rising public demand. It reported that one delivery at SPBU 54.803.22 Dalung and BUPPA Dalung on Sept. 16 added 6,720 cylinders. The government said LPG availability in Badung remained safe based on coordination with Pertamina Patra Niaga and Hiswana Migas.

The reports do not state that the Canggu operation changes eligibility rules for subsidized LPG or establishes a separate rule for foreign nationals. They describe a local distribution and price-stabilization measure for residents and businesses affected by the reported shortage.
