Bali Immigration Inspects 66 Foreigners in Dharma Dewata Patrol

Bali — Immigration authorities in Bali inspected 66 foreign nationals from 27 countries during a week-long Dharma Dewata patrol targeting alleged immigration violations and disturbances to public order in mid-August, according to official and media reports.

Felucia Sengky Ratna, head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, said the individuals were identified during coordinated surveillance patrols carried out across several parts of the island, including the jurisdictions of Ngurah Rai, Denpasar, Singaraja, Tabanan and Klungkung immigration offices, according to statements reported by local outlets.

The 66 foreigners were grouped into three main categories of alleged violations, according to English-language and Indonesian-language reports on the operation:

• 24 people suspected of misusing their stay permits.
• 20 people suspected of overstaying their visas.
• 22 people allegedly involved in disturbances to security and public order.
• 27 countries represented among those inspected.

These figures account for all 66 foreign nationals reported in the operation. Authorities did not publicly release a full list of nationalities or detailed case descriptions for each individual at the time of reporting.

Scope of the Dharma Dewata patrol

The Dharma Dewata patrol is a targeted immigration surveillance operation that has been deployed across Bali to monitor the presence and activities of foreign nationals and respond to potential public-order issues.

According to local reports quoting Felucia Sengky Ratna, officers used an integrated digital data system to validate documents and identify potential immigration violations during the week-long operation. The use of digital monitoring was described by officials as a way to detect possible breaches more quickly and accurately.

The patrol covered areas under the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, which oversees Kuta, North Kuta and South Kuta, as well as regions under the Denpasar Immigration Office, including parts of Badung Regency, Gianyar and Bangli.

Additional coverage was provided by the Singaraja Immigration Office, responsible for Buleleng, Jembrana and Karangasem, together with newer immigration offices in Tabanan and Klungkung, which have been established to strengthen oversight in those regencies.

Reporting requirements and follow-up

During the operation, immigration officers visited business owners and accommodation managers to reinforce the obligation to report foreign guests and workers through the Foreigner Reporting Application, known as APOA, according to local media citing Felucia Sengky Ratna.

Officials also urged residents and businesses to submit information about suspected immigration violations or disruptive behavior by foreigners through official immigration channels, as part of efforts to maintain security and public order in Bali’s tourism areas.

Felucia Sengky Ratna said the 66 cases remain under investigation to determine appropriate administrative measures based on the specific nature of each alleged violation. Possible sanctions for confirmed immigration breaches include deportation and other administrative actions under Indonesian immigration law, but authorities had not announced final decisions in individual cases at the time of the reports.

She stated that immigration personnel were instructed to carry out enforcement professionally and within the law, combining firm action against violations with humane and proportionate treatment of foreign nationals.
