Seraya Culture Festival to run from 5–7 November in Karangasem

Seraya — Seraya Culture Festival will take place from 5 to 7 November 2026 at Ki Kopang Field and Bias Lantang Beach in Seraya, Karangasem, according to organisers cited by Detik Bali and Warta Bali Online.

Why it matters: Visitors and residents have a three-day cultural programme in Seraya from 5 November 2026, including daily Gebug Ende performances from 4pm to 6pm.

The festival’s main attraction, Gebug Ende, is scheduled each day from 4pm to 6pm Central Indonesia Time. The traditional performance involves participants using rattan sticks and shields and is associated by Seraya residents with a ritual appeal for rain during prolonged dry periods.

Organiser I Wayan R. Supertama said the festival is being held for the fifth time under the theme “Harmony of Art, Tradition, Nature & Culture,” according to Detik Bali.

The programme also includes yoga, a fishing competition and a Balinese dance contest. Organisers have planned a blood donation drive and the distribution of school supplies to children from low-income families, while evening entertainment will feature musicians including Lolot Band, Ray Peni and DJ Mahesa.

Warta Bali Online reported that the event is intended to help preserve Seraya’s cultural traditions and support the local economy. The Karangasem tourism calendar separately describes Gebug Seraya as a sacred tradition involving a ritual contest with rattan sticks and shields, linked to requests for rain and balance with nature.
