Denpasar — Bali recorded Rp30,80 triliun (about US$1.8 billion) in investment through the third quarter of 2026, reaching 64 percent of its annual target of Rp47,93 triliun (about US$2.8 billion). Foreign investment accounted for 58,8 percent of the total, according to reporting that cited I Ketut Sukra Negara, head of the Bali Investment and One-Stop Integrated Services Agency.

The newly reported figure comes as investment remains concentrated in southern Bali. Sarbagita — the area covering Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar and Tabanan — contributed 92 percent of the province’s total investment, while the other five regencies accounted for the remaining 8 percent. Hotel and restaurant businesses were the largest sector, with investment of Rp12,49 triliun (about US$735 million).

Why the investment concentration matters to foreign readers

For foreign residents, investors and visitors, the figures show that Bali’s investment economy is not spread evenly across the island. The largest share is concentrated in the Sarbagita corridor, which includes many of Bali’s established business, hospitality and property markets. The reported split also shows that foreign capital remains larger than domestic investment: foreign investment made up 58,8 percent, compared with 41,2 percent for domestic investment.

The third-quarter total represented progress toward Bali’s 2026 investment goal, but it also highlighted an uneven geographic distribution. Sarbagita’s Rp28,40 triliun share (about US$1.7 billion) contrasted with Rp2,40 triliun (about US$141 million) across the five regencies outside the area. The figures were reported on Tuesday, Nov. 3, and Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026, with the latest report attributing the data to I Ketut Sukra Negara.
