Bali’s economy is not measured by growth alone: official 2025 indicators show a low unemployment rate, falling poverty and a tourism-heavy structure, while Bank Indonesia’s inflation data provides a separate measure of cost pressure. For businesses and investors, these figures describe demand, labour conditions and operating risks rather than guaranteeing returns.

What do the latest official indicators show?

The Bali provincial government, citing Statistics Indonesia (BPS) data released on 5 February 2026, reported that Bali’s economy grew 5.82% in 2025, compared with 5.48% in 2024. The same government summary put per-capita income at Rp72.66 million in 2025, up from Rp67.32 million in 2024.

Those figures describe the size and direction of the economy, but they do not show how every business or household performed. BPS’s publication Bali Province in Figures 2025 is the province’s statistical reference covering economic and social indicators.

How strong is Bali’s labour market?

The Bali government’s summary of BPS data said the open unemployment rate was 1.45% in 2025, down from 1.79% in 2024. It also reported poverty at 3.42% in 2025, compared with 3.80% in 2024.

For employers, the unemployment figure indicates a tight labour market at the provincial level. It does not identify recruitment conditions for a particular occupation, district or business.

How dependent is the economy on tourism?

The provincial government said Bali recorded 6.94 million foreign-tourist visits in 2025 and more than 26.6 million domestic tourist trips, citing BPS data. It also said the economic structure remained dominated by accommodation and food services, alongside trade, transport, construction and manufacturing.

A separate Bali government report gave a broader tourism total of 16.3 million visits in 2025, comprising 7.05 million foreign visitors and about 9.3 million domestic visitors. Because the two official summaries use different tourism measures and totals, the categories should not be combined as if they were one series.

What does inflation mean for business planning?

Bank Indonesia reported Bali’s annual consumer-price inflation at 2.65% in August 2025, while national inflation was 2.31%. The central bank said national inflation remained within its 2.5% plus or minus 1 percentage-point target corridor.

Inflation is a cost and purchasing-power indicator, not a forecast of property values or business profits. Investors still need to distinguish province-wide data from the costs, demand and regulations affecting a specific project.
