Buleleng — Gov. I Wayan Koster said on Friday, Oct. 30, that Turyapada Tower and its surrounding tourist facilities in Buleleng are targeted for completion in December 2026.
The update concerns the area around the tower, whose main structure has been completed. Remaining work includes the access road, gardens, gondola facilities and terminal, restaurant, and visitor rest areas. Equipment for the gondola is arriving from China in stages, with installation scheduled to begin in November 2026 and finish by the end of December.
The project has absorbed about Rp670.5 billion (about US$42 million). A further Rp27 billion (about US$1.7 million) is being prepared for 2027 to complete final area improvements. The tower is intended to become a new tourist destination and a source of regional revenue, while supporting economic activity around Buleleng and Tabanan.
Why the December target matters for North Bali
For visitors, the December target does not mean the attraction is already open. Koster said the site still cannot operate until the access road and supporting facilities are finished. Once completed, the project is expected to create opportunities for tourism-related businesses in North Bali, including services connected with dining, visitor facilities and the gondola attraction.
The announcement followed Koster’s response to Bali lawmakers during a plenary session on the province’s 2027 budget. Earlier construction planning had placed the main tower and tourism functions within a broader communications and tourism project. The October update shifted attention to the final work needed to make the site operational.
The immediate next steps are the continued arrival and installation of the gondola system, completion of the access road and surrounding facilities, and preparation for the tower’s inauguration after construction is finished.
