Denpasar — Denpasar Police Chief Commissioner of Police I Wayan Winaya met chief security representatives from hotels in Sanur on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026, to strengthen cooperation on public security in the tourism area.
The meeting took place at Art Hotel on Jalan Kesumasari No. 1, South Denpasar. Winaya said the police needed support, information and input from the community, including hotel security personnel who regularly interact with residents and visitors.
Why the Sanur meeting matters to visitors and residents
For foreign visitors and residents, the arrangement means hotel security staff are part of the local safety network alongside the police. Their role includes sharing information and supporting efforts to keep conditions safe and orderly in an area with heavy activity from both residents and tourists.
Sanur’s mixed community includes Balinese customs, traditions and culture that officials and local representatives said should be preserved as tourism develops. Representatives of hotel security personnel and the community also called for stronger police patrols, especially during vulnerable hours after visitors leave bars and cafes.
The meeting was part of the police’s effort to deepen its partnership with the public. Winaya referred to the Police with the Community program, which calls on officers to engage directly with residents, maintain communication and hear concerns or problems emerging in the field.
