Denpasar — Hotel and restaurant investment reached Rp12.49 trillion (about US$800 million) in Bali through the third quarter of 2026, making the sector the province’s largest investment recipient, according to a Nov. 3 report updated on Nov. 4.
The report said Bali recorded Rp30.80 trillion (about US$2.0 billion) in total investment through the third quarter, equivalent to 64 percent of its annual target of Rp47.93 trillion (about US$3.1 billion). Hotel and restaurant activity accounted for the largest sectoral share, followed by housing, industrial estates and offices at Rp9.35 trillion (about US$600 million).
Why Bali’s investment mix matters to tourism readers
The figures show how closely Bali’s investment remains tied to tourism and property. The report said tertiary activities, including services and tourism, represented 98.1 percent of the province’s investment structure through the third quarter. For foreign residents and visitors, that concentration points to continued development in accommodation, dining and related commercial services, although the investment figure does not by itself indicate when particular projects will open or how they will affect prices.
The same report listed other sectors at Rp4.22 trillion (about US$270 million) for other services, Rp1.99 trillion (about US$130 million) for trade and repair, and Rp1.43 trillion (about US$90 million) for transport, warehousing and telecommunications. It also said that, within foreign investment specifically, housing, industrial estates and offices led with Rp8.49 trillion (about US$550 million), while hotels and restaurants received Rp5.18 trillion (about US$340 million).
The report did not identify individual hotel or restaurant projects, nor did it state a timetable for new openings. It described the figures as investment realization through the third quarter of 2026 and said Bali still had to close a gap to reach its annual target of Rp47.93 trillion (about US$3.1 billion).
