Ungasan — GWK Cultural Park will offer free access to activities at its Lotus Pond area during the Penjor Festival from Nov. 5 to Nov. 8, 2026, while other attractions, including Festival Park and the Garuda Wisnu Kencana statue, will remain subject to the park’s normal admission rules.
The change comes as the Badung cultural destination prepares its fourth Penjor Festival, a celebration timed to the Galungan period. The program combines Balinese tradition, art, food, music and local creative work, with a bazaar bringing local micro, small and medium enterprises to visitors.
For foreign residents and visitors, the practical distinction is between the festival zone and the rest of the park. The Lotus Pond activities can be enjoyed without buying a GWK Cultural Park admission ticket, but access to other areas continues under the applicable ticket conditions.
Free Lotus Pond access expands the festival’s reach
The festival will feature penjor displays, the Mini Penjor Competition, a penjor-making workshop, Balinese script classes, lontar writing and batik workshops. A dance competition involving the Ungasan village community and musical performances will also be part of the program.
The bazaar will showcase food, decorations, handicrafts and other creative products from local businesses. Organizers and the Badung administration have presented the event as a way to strengthen local artistic traditions while supporting small businesses and artists.
GWK Cultural Park is in Ungasan, Badung, Bali. The festival’s theme is “Pesta Rasa dalam Balutan Seni dan Budaya,” or a celebration of flavors wrapped in art and culture. The event is scheduled to run through Nov. 8, with the listed activities centered on Lotus Pond.
