BPK Opens 35-Day Compliance Audit of Badung Government

Badung — — The Badung Regency Government received auditors from the Bali representative office of Indonesia’s Supreme Audit Agency, or BPK, on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026, as the agency opened a 35-day compliance and effectiveness examination of local administration.

The entry meeting took place in the Kriya Gosana room at the Badung Government Centre, according to Tribun Bali and the Badung government’s official news site. The audit window runs from Aug. 31 to Oct. 4, 2026.

BPK said the examination covers three areas: compliance in spatial planning, the effectiveness of tourism administration, and the role of Badung and the Tirta Mangutama regional water utility in drinking-water services.

Ikhsan Aprian, head of the Bali I examination division, said the spatial-planning review covers 2024 through the first half of 2026, while the tourism and water-service reviews cover 2025 through the first half of 2026, according to the reports.

Three areas under review

The spatial-planning component focuses on compliance in implementing spatial policy in support of energy security, food security and other national priorities. The tourism review looks at the effectiveness of local administration in national and regional strategic tourism areas, with the stated aim of supporting economic growth.

The water-service review examines the effectiveness of Badung’s role and management of Perumda Air Minum Tirta Mangutama in supporting drinking-water provision. The reports do not name any individual construction project, procurement package or contract.

Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa received the assignment letter during the meeting and asked regional agencies to cooperate with the audit team, according to the local government report. Deputy Regent Bagus Alit Sucipta and Regional Secretary IB Surya Suamba also attended, along with agency heads and Tirta Mangutama directors.

No findings or recommendations were announced at the entry meeting. The audit is part of BPK’s Semester II 2026 examination in Badung.
