Mangupura — Mobile driving-licence renewal services are operating today, Saturday, Oct. 31, in Badung and Klungkung, according to Bali Post and Detik Bali. In Badung, Polres Badung is providing the service at the Dalung fire station, east of Dalung Market, and at the Badung Public Service Mall from 8:00 a.m. to noon WITA (UTC+8). In Klungkung, Polres Klungkung is providing it in front of the Klungkung regent’s office from 8:30 a.m. until service is complete.

The service is for renewals of active SIM A and SIM C licences. SIM A covers cars and SIM C covers motorcycles. Applicants must bring an electronic identity card and photocopy, an active licence and photocopy, and health and psychological certificates. A licence that has already expired cannot be renewed through the mobile service.

Why it matters for foreign residents and visitors

The mobile counters offer a local alternative to visiting a regular driving-licence administration office, but the reports describe the service in terms of Indonesian licence categories and requirements. The stated locations and hours apply only to the Oct. 31 schedule. The reports do not state that the counters issue new licences, replace lost licences or handle expired licences.

The reported government fees are IDR 80,000 (about US$5) for SIM A and IDR 75,000 (about US$5) for SIM C. Bali Post attributes the licence fees to Government Regulation No. 60 of 2016 for the renewal fees.

For readers in Badung, both listed service points operate during the morning window. In Klungkung, the counter is at the regent’s office rather than at a police station, and the report gives no fixed closing time beyond “until complete.”

No later schedule is stated in the reports. The two districts’ counters therefore differ in their stated operating arrangements: Badung has two locations with a noon closing time, while Klungkung has one location and continues until service is complete. Applicants seeking renewal must use the listed schedule and bring the required documents, while holders of expired licences cannot use this mobile service.
