Mangupura — Badung Regent I Wayan Adi Arnawa attended a series of rites at Pura Pucak Arantaja in Banjar Petang Suci, Petang village, on Monday, Oct. 19, 2026, as the temple prepared for a Ngenteg Linggih ceremony.
The rites included Caru Rsi Gana, Melaspas and Mendem Pedagingan, along with the broader Ngenteg Linggih Pedudusan Agung ceremony and related rituals. The Badung Regency Government presented ceremonial assistance of IDR 1.7 billion (about US$104,000) from the 2026 main regional budget.
The assistance was formally handed to ceremony committee chairman I Wayan Lasya in the presence of invited guests, community figures and temple custodians. The peak ceremony is planned for Oct. 25, according to the report.
Why it matters to Bali’s cultural life
Ngenteg Linggih is a major temple consecration ceremony in Balinese Hindu practice. For residents and visitors, the event reflects the role of local government in supporting religious traditions and community-held ceremonies. The assistance also shows that the regency’s cultural support extends beyond public festivals to temple rites organized by local communities.
The ceremony at Pura Pucak Arantaja took place in Petang, Badung, and was part of a wider sequence of religious observances rather than a single standalone ritual. The report said the rites proceeded smoothly and identified Ida Pedanda Gede Oka Watulumbang Manuaba as the Yajamana Karya who will lead the ceremony.
The peak is scheduled for Oct. 25. No additional arrangements or public access details were stated in the report.
