Mangupura — The Badung Arts and Culture Festival will return from Nov. 5 to Nov. 16, 2026, with 50 baleganjur places prepared across children’s, youth and general categories in Badung, Bali.
The new fact in the Oct. 16 report is the allocation for the traditional Balinese gamelan competition: 10 places for children, 10 for teenagers and 30 for general participants. The festival is being prepared after a two-year hiatus and will bring together representatives from Badung’s districts alongside public participants.
Why the 50 baleganjur places matter
For visitors and foreign residents, the program offers a clear view of how Badung’s cultural calendar supports participation in Balinese performing arts rather than presenting culture only as a staged attraction. Baleganjur is one of several traditional-art competitions planned for the festival, alongside Telek Bebadungan dance, children’s, adult and women’s Gong Kebyar, and Bapang Barong.
The festival is intended to provide space for artists to create and to help preserve local Balinese cultural practice. Its program will include performances, competitions and cultural exhibitions, with participation from representatives of each district in Badung.
The Badung Arts and Culture Festival is scheduled to run for 12 days, from Nov. 5 through Nov. 16, 2026. The registration information cited in the reports indicates that the baleganjur competition has three age categories and a combined allocation of 50 places. The Badung government’s Culture Office also identifies baleganjur as part of the festival’s competition program.
The reports do not state a separate foreign-participant category or describe visitor registration arrangements. For audiences, the practical significance is that the event is a locally organized cultural program whose principal participants are district representatives and members of the public.
