Klungkung — A Reog Ponorogo performance was held at Taman Kertha Gosa on Oct. 10 as part of the 2026 Pesamuan Agung Wuku Bala programme.
The performance was presented by the Paguyuban Reog Harimau Dewata Bali and Joyokusumo, communities of migrants from Ponorogo, East Java, who work in Bali. Residents and foreign tourists watched and recorded the performance.
It was organised as part of activities by the Perkumpulan Dharmapadesa Pusat Nusantara Klungkung.
Why it matters to visitors in Klungkung
The performance shows how cultural events at Taman Kertha Gosa can bring together local residents, visitors and migrant communities. For foreign visitors, the practical point is that traditional performances may form part of larger religious, historical and community programmes rather than operate as separate tourist shows.
The Reog performers came from Ponorogo and were living and working in Bali. Their group’s headquarters was reported to be in Antasura, Denpasar. The performance took place on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 10, 2026, at the Klungkung heritage site.
The wider programme was connected to the commemoration of Ida Dalem Semaraputra and the 2026 Pesamuan Agung Wuku Bala. A separate government report said a Pasamuhan and Paruman Wuku Bala programme had been held at Puri Agung Klungkung on Sept. 20, 2026, as a forum for strengthening Balinese adat, traditions and culture.
