Bangli — Bangli Regent Sang Nyoman Sedana Arta attended a Tumpek Wayang ceremony at Pura Bale Agung in Desa Adat Tanggahan Talang Jiwa, Desa Demulih, Susut district, Bangli regency, on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026.

The ceremony included the mebat ngaryanin ulam bakti and muspayang bhakti processions. The reports described the event as an effort to preserve Balinese customs, traditions and local wisdom under the Sad Kerthi framework.

The ceremony links local ritual to Bali’s cultural policy

The observance followed Bali Governor Instruction No. 7 of 2025 on Rahina Tumpek celebrations as part of community life grounded in Sad Kerthi values. The reports said the ceremony was intended not only as a religious ritual but also as a way to strengthen devotion and collective awareness of the need to protect Balinese customs, arts, traditions and culture.

For visitors and foreign residents, the event illustrates how religious observances remain connected to local civic and cultural life in Bali. A customary-village ceremony is organized by the community and reflects local practices that may differ from those at public tourist sites.

Officials attending included the chairman of the Bali provincial legislature’s Commission I, members of the Bangli regency legislature, Bangli Regional Secretary and heads of regency government agencies. Sedana Arta also made a religious offering received by I Wayan Sukadana, the customary village head of Tanggahan Talang Jiwa.
