Gianyar — Pura Samuantiga in Bedulu will hold the second day of its three-day pujawali on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, with prayers for customary communities and the public, followed by an evening Calonarang performance.

The ceremony is part of the pujawali for Ida Bhatara Ratu Agung Sakti. The observance began with preparations on Friday, Oct. 9, and reached its peak on Saturday, Oct. 10. The second day is reserved for people from Desa Adat Bedulu, Tegallinggah, Margasengkala and Hyang Loni Desa Buruan, as well as members of the public.

Why Sunday’s ceremony matters to visitors

For visitors in Gianyar, the schedule means that Pura Samuantiga will be hosting a major religious observance rather than a routine temple visit. The public is included in the Sunday prayers, while the evening performance forms part of the ceremony’s cultural program.

The pujawali runs for three days, known locally as nyejer, and involves belasan tapakan from five customary communities that support the temple: Bedulu, Tengkulak Kaja, Tengkulak Tengah, Taman and Wanayu Mas. On Sunday, the penganyaran ceremony is scheduled for 18.00 WITA (UTC+8), followed by Calonarang at 20.00 WITA.

Calonarang is a Balinese performance traditionally associated with the conflict between benevolent and destructive forces. The report says that Sesuhunan Ratu Agung Sakti and the tapakan will take part in nemari, or masolah napak pertiwi, during the Sunday-night program.

The final day, Monday, Oct. 12, includes Penganyaran and Nyidakarya at 16.00 WITA, followed by the lowering of the tapakan and the presentation of pesegeh before the sacred objects return to their respective payogan.
