Denpasar — Bali’s provincial government and police deployed 404 personnel at a disaster-readiness assembly on 5 November 2026 in Denpasar, after 48 natural-disaster incidents were recorded across the island during the first three days of November.

Why it matters: Residents and visitors may face flooding, landslides, strong winds and heavy rain as Bali enters the seasonal transition, while 404 personnel are deployed for disaster response.

The joint assembly was led by Bali Deputy Governor I Nyoman Giri Prasta at the Iptu Soetardjo Tohpati field in Tohpati, Denpasar. Participants included the Indonesian military and police, the Regional Disaster Management Agency, the National Search and Rescue Agency and other government institutions, according to Detik Bali.

The authorities said Bali was entering a seasonal transition from the dry season to the rainy season. The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency warned that the transition could bring extreme weather, strong winds and heavy rainfall.

The 48 incidents recorded in the first three days of November included floods and landslides, according to reports by Tribun Bali and Bali Post. Tribun Bali also reported that all of Bali’s regencies and Denpasar were included in disaster-risk mapping, with flooding and fallen trees identified as key risks in Denpasar and broader threats, including landslides, in the regencies.

Authorities urged the public to monitor official weather information and cooperate in anticipating potential disasters. The assembly was followed by checks of personnel and operational equipment.

Bali Post separately reported that 446 personnel and 42 vehicles were prepared for possible floods, landslides, tidal flooding and coastal abrasion. The different deployment figures reflect separate reports on readiness preparations.
