Denpasar — Indonesia’s Trade Ministry has confirmed the release of a Bali-origin export shipment of vanilla, cinnamon and honey to Hong Kong valued at US$350,000, or around Rp5.6–5.7 billion, at a ceremony in Denpasar on Tuesday, 29 July 2025, not September 2026.
According to a Trade Ministry press statement, Trade Minister Budi Santoso officiated the shipment of spices and honey produced by micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Bali and coordinated by CV Naralia Group Indonesia under the ministry’s UMKM Bisa Ekspor (MSMEs Can Export) program.
The ministry said the first export to Hong Kong covered vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and honey, with a total export value of US$350,000, equivalent to about Rp5.6 billion based on the ministry’s exchange-rate calculation. Local media in Bali reported the same shipment value, rounding it to approximately Rp5.7 billion.
Trade Minister Santoso described CV Naralia Group Indonesia as an example of a company that aggregates small businesses and connects them to global buyers, after previously presenting their products at a trade exhibition in Hong Kong. He said the firm brought products from several MSMEs to the exhibition, where Hong Kong buyers subsequently agreed to purchase vanilla, cinnamon and honey.
During the Denpasar event, Santoso said the export was part of efforts to demonstrate that Indonesian MSMEs can compete in international markets and to encourage more small businesses to become exporters, according to national media reports citing the ministry’s release.
Program support and trade promotion
The Trade Ministry said the Hong Kong deal was facilitated through the network of Indonesian Trade Promotion Centers (ITPC), which operate in multiple countries to promote Indonesian exports and arrange business matching between domestic producers and foreign buyers.
According to the ministry, the founder of CV Naralia Group Indonesia, identified as Lia, presented the company’s products to ITPC representatives, who then sought potential buyers and arranged business matching that led to the Hong Kong order.
In the same statement, Santoso underlined that many local producers still need support to meet export standards, including packaging, quality and sales preparation. The ministry framed the Bali shipment as part of a wider push to build export readiness among MSMEs.
Bali’s export potential
Bali Governor Wayan Koster attended the release and highlighted a range of local products with export or international-market potential, including vanilla, chocolate, traditional Balinese salt for hotel use, rice, coffee and Balinese arak.
Koster said provincial authorities are encouraging exports of Bali’s local products because they already have buyers and residents possess skills in processing them. He also pointed to regulatory uncertainty and gaps in support for local products as continuing challenges for exporters and MSMEs in the province.
Media reports from the event describe CV Naralia Group Indonesia as a logistics and export specialist working with Bali MSMEs, supported by a cargo partner, to package and ship products such as vanilla, cinnamon and honey to overseas markets.
Shipment details and remaining gaps
The Trade Ministry and local media have not disclosed detailed figures on product volumes, individual prices or shipment and payment terms for the US$350,000 consignment to Hong Kong.
Available official and media accounts present the shipment as a single first export order to Hong Kong under the UMKM Bisa Ekspor program rather than part of a series of consignments, but they do not specify the schedule of deliveries.
