Bali orders study of 2027 provincial minimum wage

Denpasar — Bali Governor Wayan Koster has ordered the Bali Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA) to study the province’s 2027 minimum wage in Denpasar, with the review reported on September 21, 2026.

Why it matters: Employers and workers will not have a 2027 provincial wage figure until the announced November 21, 2026 decision date.

The study is examining decent-living needs in Bali and companies’ ability to pay. BRIDA is involving academics, businesses, wage institutions and representatives of Bali’s regencies and city, according to Bali Post.

The provincial government and the Wage Council are also conducting calculations based on the wage-setting formula established by the central government. The 2027 provincial minimum wage has not been set.

The review includes consideration of sectoral wages, including possible arrangements for tourism. Any sectoral minimum wage for 2027 remains subject to the study and the relevant decision-making process.

Detik Bali reported that the 2027 provincial minimum wage is due to be announced on November 21, 2026. Regency and city minimum wages are due to be announced no later than five days after the provincial announcement.

Current wage context

Bali’s 2026 provincial minimum wage is Rp3,207,459 per month, while the 2026 provincial sectoral minimum wage for accommodation and food-and-beverage activities is Rp3,267,693, according to the Bali provincial manpower agency’s wage information page and reporting by Bali Post.
