Bali Records 15,803 Electric Vehicles Operating in First Half of 2026

Denpasar — The Bali provincial government recorded 15,803 electric vehicles registered as operating on the island in the first half of 2026, with two-wheeled vehicles making up the majority of the fleet according to local media reports citing provincial data.

The figure, covering January to June 2026, consists of 10,545 two-wheeled vehicles and 5,258 four-wheeled electric cars, according to coverage by Tribun-Bali that was later summarized by Bali Discovery. The reports state that the vehicles are officially operating in Bali but do not clarify whether the numbers represent new registrations during the six-month period or the total stock recorded as in operation by the end of June.

The event was divided into six sessions and gave Bank Mandiri customers the opportunity to test-drive various electric and hybrid vehicles, join information-sharing sessions and consult directly on vehicle choices and financing schemes.

Reports from outlets including RMOL, The Signal, TVOneNews and Republika state that MUF offered financing facilities for new vehicles during the program, with down payments starting at 10 percent, cashback of up to Rp 2 million and insurance benefits with a maximum value of Rp 10 million, subject to terms and conditions. The financing offers were also available for applications submitted through Bank Mandiri’s Livin’ mobile application.

MUF’s senior executives quoted in the Indonesian-language coverage said the initiative was aimed at strengthening the ecosystem for electric vehicles by combining direct driving experience, education and accessible financing so that more consumers would be willing to consider switching to electric or hybrid vehicles. The reports describe these incentives as commercial financing facilities provided by MUF and Bank Mandiri, rather than government purchase subsidies or provincial tax incentives linked to the 15,803-vehicle figure.
