Denpasar — Bali’s vehicle tax and title-transfer fee revenue reached approximately Rp1.137 trillion as of 24 August 2026, according to the Bali Provincial Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) as reported by local media and regional business press.

Motor-vehicle tax (Pajak Kendaraan Bermotor, PKB) contributed Rp658.07 billion, while motor-vehicle title-transfer fees (Bea Balik Nama Kendaraan Bermotor, BBNKB) added Rp478.72 billion.

The combined figure reflects payments recorded across Bapenda’s technical implementation units (UPT) throughout the province.

Bapenda Bali head I Dewa Tagel Wirasa said the agency is working to increase collections while improving access for taxpayers, including through new service points and payment innovations.

Revenue breakdown and targets

According to Bapenda data cited in local reports, PKB receipts as of 24 August 2026 reached Rp658.07 billion, or 61.27 percent of the provincial target of Rp1.074 trillion.

The PKB figure represents payments for 1,474,395 vehicles.

BBNKB receipts stood at Rp478.72 billion, equivalent to 62.72 percent of the Rp763.25 billion annual target, based on 149,463 title-transfer transactions.

Combined, PKB and BBNKB receipts reached roughly Rp1.13679 trillion, rounded in official reporting to approximately Rp1.137 trillion.

Denpasar and Badung UPTs were reported as the largest contributors.

Denpasar collected Rp237.84 billion in PKB and Rp163.03 billion in BBNKB, while Badung recorded Rp156.47 billion in PKB and Rp106.49 billion in BBNKB.

  • PKB: Rp658.07 billion, 61.27 percent of target
  • BBNKB: Rp478.72 billion, 62.72 percent of target
  • Combined receipts: approximately Rp1.137 trillion
  • Collection date: 24 August 2026

Other reported PKB receipts included Gianyar (Rp68.51 billion), Buleleng (Rp53.04 billion), Tabanan (Rp52.79 billion), Karangasem (Rp30.56 billion), Jembrana (Rp24.54 billion), Klungkung (Rp17.82 billion) and Bangli (Rp16.52 billion).

BBNKB receipts by regency were reported as Buleleng Rp48.15 billion, Gianyar Rp46.93 billion, Tabanan Rp36.47 billion, Karangasem Rp28.52 billion, Jembrana Rp21.05 billion, Klungkung Rp15 billion and Bangli Rp13.07 billion.

Cashless services and tax incentives

Bapenda is preparing a Samsat Satria service point in South Kuta, using government facilities in strategic public areas to bring vehicle-tax and administrative services closer to residents.

The South Kuta Samsat Satria outlet is planned with a fully cashless concept, allowing taxpayers to make payments digitally without physical cash, according to statements by I Dewa Tagel Wirasa on 26 August 2026.

Starting in 2026, Bali introduced reductions in the principal vehicle tax for compliant taxpayers.

Under a provincial regulation socialised by Samsat Badung, taxpayers who pay on time before the due date receive a 10 percent reduction for vehicles up to 200 cc and a 5 percent reduction for vehicles above 200 cc.

Local business media have reported these incentives as part of Bapenda’s broader strategy to boost compliance and regional revenue.

Residents can pay vehicle taxes up to three months before the due date, and late-payment penalties are set at 1 percent in line with existing regulations.

Context

Bali’s strategy for the remainder of 2026 combines expanded service access through Samsat Satria, cashless and digital payment facilities, and targeted reductions in principal tax amounts for timely taxpayers.

The revenue reported through 24 August 2026 leaves roughly four months in the calendar year for Bapenda to pursue its PKB and BBNKB targets, which together exceed Rp1.8 trillion.

Earlier reporting on 2025 regional revenue shows vehicle taxes already played a significant role in Bali’s local income, with PKB and BBNKB both exceeding their targets and supporting provincial budget performance.
