Bangli Restarts Sasana Budaya Works With Rp14.95 Billion

Bangli — — Bangli regency has resumed work on the Sasana Budaya cultural complex after a pause last year, with this year’s construction focused on a new building on the northern side of the site, according to Balipost. The project is budgeted at Rp14,946,150,000 and is being built by CV Bangun Pertiwi over 120 days.

The Public Works, Spatial Planning, Housing and Settlement Areas Agency in Bangli said the funds come from special financial assistance, or bantuan keuangan khusus (BKK). The current phase has been underway for about a month, and the agency is targeting completion this year, Balipost reported.

The new structure is planned as a single-storey building. It is intended to support activities at Sasana Budaya, including private meetings, competitions and cultural events, and to provide office space for the Culture and Tourism Office, according to the report.

Bangli’s procurement system lists a package for the construction of Sasana Budaya Bangli with a tender value of Rp15 billion and a consultancy package for supervision, both under the local public works agency. The procurement listing also shows March 2026 as the procurement month. The figures broadly match the project now under way, although the displayed tender value is rounded.

Balipost said the Sasana Budaya area had been damaged and neglected for years before the regency began staged improvements in 2023. That first phase covered the entrance, boundary wall and structural work for an open stage, while work in 2024 finished the open stage and added spectator stands and a kori kayon, a traditional Balinese gateway element.

The project was not continued in 2025 because no continuation allocation was made, according to Balipost. The report did not say whether further work will be funded in 2027.
